What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Gray's Pentecostal Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Article One:
We believe in God the Father, eternal and Almighty, Creator of all things.
Genesis 1:1

Article Two:
We believe in Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God; we believe in His virgin birth, His resurrection, ascension, and His coming triumphant return.

I Corinthians 15:52-57

Article Three:
We believe in the Holy Ghost, the He is the third person in the trinity of the Godhead, and the Divine Spirit through whom the Father and the Son work.
John 15:26, John 14:16-17, I Corinthians 12:3, Galatians 5:1-25, Romans 8:1-27

John 3:3-21, I Peter 1:3-25, II Corinthians 5:17-19, Titus 3:5-6

Article Five:
We believe in sanctification, that the Divinely appointed means for sanctification are the Blood of Christ, the Holy Ghost, and The Word of God. And the nature of sanctification is Holiness, by separation from sin, dedication to God, and purification of the nature of man.
Hebrews 10:10-15, Hebrews 13:12-13, I Corinthians 6:11, II Thessalonians 2:13, Romans 15:16,
John 17:17, Ephesians 5:26-27

Article Six:
We believe in the baptism of The Holy Ghost, that it is a seal to the believer, the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, the completion of God’s plan for a victorious life and one’s reception of it is witnessed by speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We believe baptism into His Spirit is the means by which we are put into the body of Christ, which is THE Church.
Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-47, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30, Colossians 2:9-10, I Corinthians 12:13

Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 8:38-39

Article Eight:
We believe in the Divine Church, that it is called the body of Jesus Christ, of which He is the Head.
Colossians 1:18-24
We believe that membership in the Divine Church called The Church of God (Acts 20:28) is obtained through the new birth and not by joining a man-made organization. We do feel, however, that every Christian shall have a home church where his efforts can be coordinated with those of his brethren for the advancements of the Kingdom of God.
John 3:3, Ephesians 2:19-20

Article Nine:
We believe in the Bible signs following believers but in no case do we endorse or tolerate fanaticism, or heresy, such as handling of serpents, and handling of fire, or drinking of deadly poison. We believe that when God confirms His Word with signs following, it will bring glory to God and edification to the Church. Bible signs do not bring vain glory to man, those are works of the flesh.
Mark 16:15-20, I Corinthians 14:1-33

Article Ten:
We believe in the Holy Communion and washing of the saint’s feet, and feel that both should be carried out just as Jesus left us example to do as He had done.

We believe in an eternal Heaven and an eternal Hell, that the righteous will live eternally in Heaven and the wicked will be eternally punished in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone. That no one can enter Heaven unless their name is written in the Lambs Book of Life which is in Heaven.

I Timothy 2:9-10

Article Thirteen:
We believe in marriage between one man and one woman, that they are scriptural and legal, and that marriage is binding until death parts them. Biblical marriage is honorable, ordained of God and blessed. We believe that the only cause for separation is fornication.
We believe that no man should be ordained to any office of the Church who has more than one living companion.
